Ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Humpty Dumpty’, is the adult form of ivy Hedera helix ‘Erecta’.
The bright green leaves are arranged around the upright stems, forming a ball. In September or October, the flowers appear in tight green umbels, attracting many foragers. The fruits, in the form of small berries, are green at first, then black when ripe. Birds feast on them at the end of winter.
This variety of ivy is sometimes used as a substitute for boxwood. Slow growthMature form of Erecta, slow growth forming balls of dark green foliage.
