Ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Denmark’, is a fast-growing, compact variegated ivy.
The leaves are medium green to grey-green, edged with creamy white. They are composed of 3 to 5 lobes with a fairly blunt profile. The variegation is reduced in winter and the plant becomes greener.
This ivy resembles ‘Silver King’, but the leaves of ‘Denmark’ are larger and more parchment-like. It forms fairly thick carpets. It is an interesting houseplant.
History
This cultivar was introduced from Denmark in the 1950s.
