Ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Brigette’, is a good ground-cover ivy with large leaves.
They have 3 to 5 undulating lobes. The leaf blade is green to dark green. The base of the leaves is cordate. The stems are thick and fasciate. The internodes are very short.
This ivy produces shoots of around ten centimetres a year. Its broad leaves form thick mats. It is ideal for use in small gardens.
History
This cultivar was discovered by the Weber nursery in Los Angeles, California, in 1939. It is a mutation of ‘Merion Beauty’.
