Ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Big Deal’, is a variety with atypical leaves reminiscent of those of the Geranium. It was originally known as «Geranium Ivy».
The leaf is almost round, without lobes, scurved and slightly wavy. The veins are prominent and fan-shaped. The leaf blade is light to dark green. The base of the leaf is cordate.
It's a compact, well-branched plant with short stems that you can use to decorate small areas of the garden, or as a houseplant.
History
This cultivar was discovered by Keith Williams, a florist in Springfield, Ohio, USA, around 1955.
