Description
Ornamental ivy - Hedera helix ‘Medusa’
In a nutshell
Ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Medusa’, is an unusual ivy with large leaves.
Its growth habit is rather shrubby. The stems are stiff, thick and fasciate at the top. The leaves are fan-shaped, with 3 to 7 shallow lobes tapering to narrow points. They are made asymmetrical by the presence of uneven, blunt teeth. The base of the leaf is truncated. The leaf blade is light to dark green and glossy. Its colour is constant throughout the seasons. It is attractively veined with contrasting veins.
This is a slow-growing ivy with few branches. It forms attractive round clumps. Use it as an isolated plant or as ground cover. It always looks good in pots.
