The question of circumstance

What is Pittsburgh ivy?

‘Pittsburgh’ is a variety (cultivar) of very branchy ivy, i.e. forming numerous branches from the leaf axils, usually with very short internodes.

This cultivar has given rise to many other varieties of ivy with the same characteristics (branching ivy). All these ivies are of the Pittsburgh type.

This type of ivy is not included in the Pierot classification. We have added it because it is a very distinctive type of ivy.
