Ornamental ivy - Hedera helix ‘Golden Ingot’

Ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Golden Ingot’, is a very fine variety, which has rightly won awards.
The leaves are composed of 3 to 5 shallow lobes. The base of the leaf is cordate. The leaf blade is medium green mottled with grey-green, light yellow and cream. The variegation covers a very uneven surface, ranging from 20 to 70 %, with asymmetry on the leaf.
This is a ground-cover variety with medium-sized leaves and shoots, which will brighten up any sunny corner of the garden.
This ivy won the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) Garden Award of Merit in 2002.
This variety was voted “Ivy of the Year” by the American Ivy Society in 2003.
History
This cultivar was introduced to Denmark by Frode Maegaard of the Hedera nursery in Ringe in 1987. Its original name was ‘Golden Inge’.
