Many ivies are suitable for shady exposure. Remember: ivy is mainly an understorey plant. We've selected over 250 of them here, and this list of ivy varieties for the shade is by no means exhaustive!
As long as ivy remains in the shade, it will not reach the adult stage, i.e. it will not produce flowers or fruit. But it can make a beautiful carpet in places that are impossible to plant, such as under conifers.
