How to plant your ivy?

The the care given to the plantation is a decisive factor. for the good development of your plant.

If necessary, start by weed the future location of your ivy. Once properly installed, ivy will prevent unwanted plants from growing. But to achieve this result, they must be installed on clean ground.

For the actual planting, prepare a hole three times wider and twice as deep than the pot. In this way, you create a well-loosened space in which the roots can begin to settle easily. Once they are well established, they will be strong enough to explore further and deeper, depending on their needs.

Water generously after planting, even if it rains. The aim of this watering is to make the soil stick to the roots so that they get off to a good start.

Mulch at the foot of your plant to keep it fresh and prevent unwanted growth.

The first year, Don't neglect watering if the weather is dry, especially if it's hot. Once well established (after a year or two), ivy will take care of itself. In most cases, you will no longer need to water it if it is planted in the ground.

Of course, of course if it is in a pot or window box, It will still need to be watered regularly. But be careful not to over-water, as ivy dies much more easily from over-watering than from under-watering.
