Ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Silver Emblem‘is a variety with few branches. The long stems with long internodes bear thick, 3-lobed or sometimes 5-lobed leaves measuring 3 x 5 cm. The central, pointed lobe is much longer than the lateral lobes.
The asymmetrical leaves are mottled medium green and grey. There is a fine, irregular cream or creamy-white margin.
The variegation turns pink in cold conditions.
History
This old cultivar may have originated in the United States. Some consider it to be a synonym of Hedera helix ‘Adam’.
